2021 Durga Puja Dates, Durgotsava for Ujjain, India
Durga Puja is 5 Day long celebration. This year it will start at 10th October, 2021 till 14th October, 2021 (Dussehra). Below is the Calendar for Durga Puja 2021:-
1st Day – 10th Oct – Shashthi >>Bilva Nimantran Kalparambha, >> Akal Bodhon >>Amantran and Adhivas .
2nd Day 11th Oct – Navpatrika Puja and Kolabou Puja will be done.
3rd Day 12th Oct :- Durga Ashtami, Kumari Puja, Sandhi Puja, Maha Navami
4th Day 13th Oct :- Bengal Maha Navami, Durga Balidan, Navami Homa, Durga Visarjan, Vijayadashami will be celebrated.
5th Day 14th Oct :- Bengal Vijayadashami, Bengal Durga Visarjan, Sindoor Utsav will be celebrated.
The Goddess Durga arrives on the Earth on the first day of Devi Paksha which starts on the next day of Mahalaya Amavasya during Pitru Paksha. She departs on Durga Visarjan day.

Durga Puja 2021 : How to Worship Girls – Kumari Punjan
On the first day, it is propitious to give them flowers. Moreover, one make-up item is a must to be given along with flowers. Offer white flower to Ma Saraswati in order to please her. If you have any worldly desire in your heart, offer red flowers (e.g. rose, china-rose or gurhal, jasmine, and marigold etc.)
On the second day, worship by giving them fruits. This fruit can be red or yellow for materialistic desire and banana or coconut for achieving detachment. Remember fruits must not be sour.
On the third day there is a significant of Sweets. Goddess becomes happy, if home cooked kheer , halwa or yellow rice are fed on the day.
On day four there is a value of giving them cloths but in accordance with financial capacity handkerchief and ribbon can also be offered.
Fifth day good fortune and to bless with child is desired from goddess. So giving five type of make up item to girls is considered very auspicious. There can be bindi, bangles, heena, hair clips, scented soaps, kajal, mascara, nail paint, talcum powder etc in them.
On sixth day Sport stuff should be given to girls. Nowadays different varieties of sport stuff are available in markets. Earlier this custom was limited up to rope, panche and small toys only but now many options are available in markets.
Seventh day is dedicated to call Goddess Saraswati. On this day study material should be given to girls. Different types of pencil, pen, copies, drawing, books, compass, water bottle and lunch box are available in market these days.
Eight day of navratri is considered as the most scared day. Goddess gives special blessing to the people who do girls make up with their own hands. Girls’ feet should be washed by milk. Akshat, flowers and kumkum should offer on their feet. Food should be given to girls and offer some gifts to them as per financial capacity. Giving alms is necessary every day during Navratra.
On the ninth day mean sthe last day of Navratra, Girls should be feed with kheer, gwarfali’s vegetable and puri kneaded with milk. The worship of Goddess is completed by their feet Mahavar & heena on their palms. If the Hawan is organized at your home then Samidha must be offered by her hands. She should be feed with cardamom & betel. There is a belief behind this custom that when the Goddess goes back to her land then she must be seen off as a girl from her own house. If possible, a red tippet should be given to girls also offer them a small book of Durga Chalisa. Garba`s dandiya & Chaniya choli can also be given.
Muhurat for Sharad Navratri in 2021
On 5th of October, there will be Ashwin Shukla Paksha and
the Ghat Sthapna will be held on Pratipada which will be according to
the Hindu calendar. Apart from that Abhijit time will also be accepted
as another muhurat for establishing ghat.
Ghat Sthapana Abhijit Muhurat will be started at 12:06 and will be end at 12:46.
The schedule of Navratri followed by Hindus to worship 3 Goddess is:
- 1st – 3rd day of Navratri: Navratri festival starts with the preparation
of small portion in pooja room with mud/dirt and barley seeds
especially dedicated to Maa Durga, the Goddess of bravery, courage and
power. - 4th – 6th day of Navratri: These 3 days, the goddess of wealth and richness i.e. Maa Lakshmi is worshipped.
- 7th – 8th day of Navratri: On the 7th day, puja of Maa Saraswati is performed in order to gain knowledge from her blessings.
- 8th day of Navratri :– It belongs to defeat of all wrong deeds in mind and heart and for this reasons all these deeds are burnt in holy fire.
- Mahanavmi: Mahanavmi is
the final day of Navratri. On Mahanavmi, every house calls nine
unmarried girls and worships them with pooja thalis and serve them
feast.

Very good article. . pooja is a very important ritual of everyfestival. Most of them nowadays don’t know why or how to do pooja including me. I usually buy pooja kits from Pureprayer website. they have all these audio cds and booklets with instructions. Just doing the pooja is not sufficient.we should know why we do also. this article is very good.
